Stefan Berdat is a Zurich-based photographer with a background in web design and development. His journey into photography began with a tactile moment: the first time he held a Leica—his best friend Jip’s—it just clicked. The weight, the mechanics, the unmistakable sound of the shutter: it was an object of precision and beauty that stirred something in him. A few months later, when he finally owned his first Leica M10, the passion took hold.
From that point on, the camera rarely left his side. He wandered the streets of Kreis 5, drawn to its stark contrasts and silent geometry. What captivated him wasn’t just architecture—it was the interplay of light and shadow, the rhythm of repetition, and the occasional disruption: a passerby cutting through the frame, a human silhouette against steel and Concrete.
Berdat’s work quickly gained recognition. In 2024, he received several awards from the Swiss Photo Club and Leica Film International, marking his emergence on the photography scene.
